The “Heavyweight of Clean Comedy,” Brent Reed, will host this year’s United Way Awards & Recognition Dinner. Reed has over 20 years of comedy experience and has performed for McDonalds corporation, Walmart, Academy Sports, hundreds of churches, and many others.
“I thrive off of getting the crowd involved,” stated Reed. “I will typically arrive to the event extra early just to meet the guests, get a feel of the event and write the script as the event proceeds.”
This year’s award dinner will be held Thursday, May 18th at the Bridge Water Event Center starting at 5:30 pm. The evening includes a buffet dinner, cash bar and comedy program.
“We want this year’s event to be a little different,” stated Resource Development Manager Rosalind Rolls who is coordinating the event. “We want to mix it up a little while recognizing our award winning donors.”
Throughout the program of recognizing worksite campaigns, individual donors, volunteers and community leaders, Reed will interject his comedian flare.
“Audience participation makes every show unique, and keeps everyone guessing what will happen next,” added Reed. “Best of all, nobody walks away offended. They just walk away with a big smile.”
Academy Award attire is strongly recommended. Contact Rosalind Rolls before May 12th to make your reservation; RosalindR@unitedwaygbacc.org or by calling 832-926-7043.
