Campaign leaders named for United Way

Guido Persiani, principal site development consultant at Bayer, and Missy Malechek, president of West Chambers County Chamber of Commerce, will serve as chair and vice chair of the 2015-2016 United Way of Greater Baytown Area & Chambers County annual campaign.
The campaign cabinet will consist of Pete Alfaro, ExxonMobil retiree and former Baytown mayor, leading the Industries division; Mike Wilson, senior vice president with Texas First Bank, leading the Merchants division; Daryl Fontenot of Merrill Lynch, the Professionals & Individuals division; Patti Jett, public information officer for the City of Baytown, the Government & Non-Profit division; Patti Henry, Chambers County district clerk, the Chambers County division; and Margarita Viveros, ExxonMobil energy improvement section supervisor, leading the ExxonMobil Baytown Area campaign.
Kick-off rally for the 2015-2016 United Way campaign is a luncheon set for Tuesday, Aug. 11, from 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m. at Baytown Community Center, 2407 Market St.
Keynote speaker at the kick-off event will be Dr. Bonnie Dunbar, retired NASA astronaut who is director of the University of Houston STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering & Mathematics) Center.
United Way workplace giving campaigns typically are conducted sometime between late August and early November, but United Way staff and volunteer leaders will work with donors to implement a campaign at any time during the year.
