David Rupert Smith of Bayer Technology Services has been elected president of the board of directors for United Way of Greater Baytown Area & Chambers County for 2015-2016.
Also elected to leadership positions on the United Way board are Brandon Crutchfield of ZXP Technologies, vice president; and Deena Smith of Community Resource Credit Union, secretary-treasurer.
New United Way board members for 2015-2016 include Daryl Fontenot of Merrill Lynch, Stephanie Gage of Barbers Hill ISD, Mark Kuhlman of Bayer MaterialScience, Patti O’Neill-Burn of ExxonMobil Mont Belvieu Plastics Plant, and Rolando Valdez, who is retired from the petrochemical industry. Each will serve a three-year term.
Also new to the board for 2015-2016 is Becky Chalupa of Houston Methodist San Jacinto Hospital, who will complete two years remaining of an unexpired term.
Returning to the United Way board for a full three-year term is James Gibson, semi-retired businessman who lives in Winnie. Gibson just completed one year remaining of an unexpired term.
In addition to David Smith, Crutchfield, Deena Smith and Gibson, continuing members of the board include Dr. Dennis Brown of Lee College, James Hopper of Anahuac ISD, Matt Lawrence of ExxonMobil Baytown Complex, Denise Pratt, attorney, Dr. Precious Reimonenq of Goose Creek CISD, Tom Sessions of Chevron Phillips Chemical Co., Brian Shatwell of ONEOK and Karen Thomas of Goose Creek CISD.
The mission of United Way of Greater Baytown Area & Chambers County is to develop, promote and support solutions designed to meet targeted community needs. The United Way service area includes Baytown, McNair, Highlands and Chambers County.
